Girls Basketball loses season opener

The Girls Basketball team opened the 20-21 season with a 73-23 loss to Northridge Thursday night.  Bria Brown led the Colonials with 10 points. The JV also lost 55-6 to the Lady Raiders.  The Colonials host Culver Academy Saturday afternoon at Colonial Gym

Cheerleading procedures for Basketball season

The Northern Indiana Conference has made a decision about cheerleading at Boys and Girls Basketball games this season.   Cheerleaders are prohibited from performing at all away NIC Basketball Contests during the Girls’ and  Boys’ Basketball Season of 2020-21 because of Covid-19 pandemic issues. For away non-conference girls’ and boys’ basketball contests, NIC schools should contact those schools

Clay High is looking for a new head coach. Coach  Shawn Pittman resigned Thursday for personal reasons. Pittman  led the Colonials for the last two years with a record of 6-17 in 2019 and 7-15 in 2020. He created an atmosphere of respect and hard work amongst the girls on the team and will be missed this coming

Senior Girls Basketball Player  Tonia Horston-Smith will continue her academic and  athletic  career at Ancilla College.  Among  her accomplishments, Hortton-Smith scored  245 points her senior year and was leading scorer at  12.2 points a game. Girls Basketball season comes to an end

The Girls Basketball team saw their season come to an end Wednesday night as they lost their sectional opener to St. Joe 63-25.
