Boys Varsity Baseball · Clay Baseball field gets name change

At the first meeting of the new year, the South Bend School Board Monday  made  a name change to Clay’s Baseball Field.  It has been renamed to Jim Reinebold Field. Reinebold won 503 games in 25 seasons as the head baseball coach at Clay. That’s more wins than any coach in any sport in South Bend schools history. In 1970, he led the Colonials to the school’s only state championship in baseball. After coaching at Clay, he served as an assistant for the South Bend Silver Hawks in the 90s. His number 4 was retired by both Clay and the Silver Hawks. Reinebold is a member of the South Bend Alumni Hall of Fame, the Indiana Baseball Hall of Fame and even served a term as on the St. Joseph County Common Council. Congratulations to the Reinebold family and to Clay High School and Baseball program for this great honor
